Context

Bitfarms is a publicly traded Bitcoin mining and energy infrastructure company operating 460 megawatts across North and South America, including sites in Quebec, the U.S., Paraguay, and Argentina.

As global operations expanded, managing energy participation, curtailment, and compliance across 15+ data centers became increasingly complex.

Bitfarms had built its own proprietary miner management software, it was powerful, but limited when it came to automation depth and energy market integration.

The challenge:

  • Manual curtailment processes that risked overreaction or missed events.
  • Lack of synchronization between miners, PDUs, and energy providers.
  • No real-time validation of coincidental peaks or demand response triggers.

Operating across deregulated markets like PJM, Bitfarms needed a platform that could combine automation, orchestration, and forecasting without losing control or uptime.

Bitfarms partnered with LōD to bring real-time intelligence to every layer of its infrastructure.

Using LōD RAILS automation, the team integrated miner control, PDUs, and cooling systems into a single orchestration layer.
